The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Wednesday said it has assisted a total of 619 devotees, including 18 major cases during this year’s Traslacion.
In its 10 a.m. update, the PRC said medical personnel have monitored the blood pressure of a total of 468 devotees who have initially complained of dizziness.
Some 131 devotees suffered minor injuries including punctures, bruises and lacerations.
Meanwhile, 18 devotees sustained major injuries including bleeding, bone fracture, and difficulty in breathing.
Two devotees both suffering from hypertension were transported to nearby hospitals, one of which could be suffering from electrolyte imbalance, the PRC said.
The PRC has 12 stations along the route of the procession of the Black Nazarene, and it has deployed 1,000 volunteers to assist the devotees during Traslacion.
The carriage of the Black Nazarene left the Quirino Grandstand at 5 a.m. and, as of posting, it is now on its way to Quiapo Church.
It has reached the front of Manila City Hall at around 9:45 a.m. /jpv
