As early as Tuesday, devotees of the Black Nazarene poured into the Quirino Grandstand and set up tents to camp out as they eagerly awaited this year’s Traslacion.
Colorful tents could be seen lining the San Lorenzo Ruiz Plaza, the field fronting the Quirino Grandstand.
The Traslacion will commence at the grandstand at 5 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 9) where the Black Nazarene will be brought back to Quiapo Church.
Millions of devotees are expected to participate in the procession.
A high fiesta Mass will also be held at 12 midnight on Wednesday. Hourly Masses t will also be held at the grandstand before the carriage leaves the venue.
The annual ‘Pahalik’ at the grandstand was held on Tuesday for devotees who want to touch and kiss the feet of the Black Nazarene before the Traslacion.
