MANILA, Philippines — The Senate suspended its work on Wednesday in anticipation of traffic congestion due to the Traslacion of the Black Nazarene.
In an advisory issued on Tuesday, all Senate officials and employees were advised on Tuesday that they need not report for work on Wednesday because of the expected difficulty in commuting to and from the Senate building due to the procession in Manila.
“Meetings, committee hearings, and other activities may proceed subject to the discretion of the Chairman, Senator, and office concerned,” the advisory read.
However, it noted that additional compensation “may not be claimed for work that will be rendered in the exigency of the service” on Wednesday. /ee
