Napoles transferred to Correctional Institution for Women

MANILA, Philippines — Plunder convict Janet Lim Napoles has been transferred to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, according to Chief Insp. Xavier Solda, spokesperson of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said.

Sokda confirmed the transfer to INQUIRER.net in a text message on Monday. He said Napoles was transferred to CIW on Friday.

The Sandiganbayan earlier denied the appeal of Napoles to be allowed stay in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

Napoles was convicted of plunder for her involvement in the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

Meanwhile, former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was acquitted of plunder. He was accused of allocating P224 million from his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to bogus nongovernment organizations owned by Napoles. /atm
