MANILA, Philippines — A 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit near the shoreline of Zamboanga del Norte on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said in its earthquake bulletin that the temblor hit 22 kilometers (km) northwest of Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte, at 11:11 a.m.
An Intensity IV was reportedly felt in Zamboanga City.
The quake of tectonic origin had a depth of 35 km.
