Security cameras placed in, outside Arroyo suite in Veterans hospital
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police gave the assurance Wednesday that security cameras in and outside the presidential suite of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) would be in place in time for the transfer of former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Friday.
PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that security arrangement s for the former President was finalized during a meeting between the PNP and the VMMC security personnel on Wednesday.
Among the measures agreed on was banning the media from the VMMC complex because “the area is already secured,” Cruz said.
He said regular media briefings would be held at the VMMC lobby, provided the patients, who are mostly elderly veterans, are not disturbed.
Cruz also said the media would be allowed to follow the convoy of vehicles that will bring the former President from St. Luke’s in Taguig City to the VMMC in Quezon City.
