It’s a go for Black Nazarene procession

It’s all systems go for Traslacion 2019 or the procession of the Black Nazarene on Jan. 9.

“It’s a go. It’s a strong go,” Msgr. Hernando Coronel, rector of the Basilica of the Black Nazarene or Quiapo Church, told a press conference.

Coronel agreed with National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Guillermo Eleazar, who said they were 85-percent prepared for the feast which is expected to draw millions of devotees.

Organizers have released the official route of the Traslacion, which will start after the 4 a.m. morning prayer at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta.

Eleazar said that telecommunication signals would be shut down in areas along the route of the Traslacion.

Eleazar also said a “No Fly Zone” and a “No Sail Zone” would be implemented.—TINA G. SANTOS
