Motorcyclist dead in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY – A motorcycle rider died after a truck hit him along Maharlika highway in Calauag town in Quezon province early Friday.

A report from the Quezon police said a cargo truck bumped the motorcycle being driven by Vicente Sagun, 25, while traversing the highway in Barangay (village) Sta. Maria at 12:10 a.m.

The truck was driven by Jerry Mendoza.

Upon impact, the truck, which was negotiating a descending curved section of the road, dragged the motorcycle and the victim who died on the spot, police said.

Police said the victim was driving without a license. DELFIN T. MALLARI JR.
