Chinese man abducted in Pasay City

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man was allegedly abducted while on his way to his Pasay City office on Wednesday afternoon, the Pasay City police said.

In a report, the Pasay City Police identified the victim as Wang Jinchuan, an employee of Vertex On Line Gaming Business. Police said Wang was abducted along Pearl Drive near the corner of Macapagal Boulevard at about 5:36 p.m.

Initial investigation showed that prior to the alleged abduction, Wang arrived in front of the Biopolis building along Macapagal Boulevard where his office is located. Instead of proceeding directly to his office, police said Wang went to a nearby coffee shop reportedly to meet someone.

Police said Wang was not able to anyone at the coffee shop and started walking back to the Biopolis building.

According to police, as he was walking back to the building, Wang was approached by two Chinese-looking men who forced him into a Mitsubishi sports utility vehicle without license plates.

The SUV then sped towards the direction of Macapagal Boulevard.

The Pasay City Police, along with the security personnel of the Mall of Asia have conducted a hot pursuit operation against suspects. /muf
