Today, Jan. 3, is the 104th birth anniversary of National Artist for Theater Severino Montano.
A playwright, director, actor and theater organizer, Montano received the Patnubay ng Kalinangan Award from the City of Manila in 1968 and the Presidential Award for Merit in Drama and Theater in 1961.
He died on Dec. 12, 1980 and was conferred the title of National Artist posthumously in 2001. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
