Daughter of OFW fatally stabbed in Davao Occidental

DAVAO OCCIDENTAL, Philippines — A daughter of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was found dead with fatal stab wounds inside their house in Barangay Mamacao, Sta. Maria town on New Year’s Day.

Police said Jane Masucol, 18, sustained 20 stab wounds on different parts of her body with her head also crushed with a hammer.


Senior Insp. Kirby Badilles, Sta. Maria police chief said the suspect identified as Wangyo Tribunal, a friend of the victim, was later arrested.

Police said the victim’s mother is expected to return back to the Philippines within the week. /muf
