MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded at least 55 firecracker-related injuries in Metro Manila as Filipinos welcomed 2019.
The data covers December 21 until 6 a.m. of January 1, the DOH said in a report forwarded by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday.
The DOH recorded 248 firecracker-related injuries from December 21, 2017, to January 6, 2018.
Only one incident of indiscriminate firing, which happened in Navotas City, has been recorded in Metro Manila since Monday, according to NCRPO.
No incident of stray bullets has been recorded so far, police said. /cbb
