MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will be felt mostly in Luzon on Tuesday, the first day of 2019, the weather bureau said.
In its daily forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies with light to moderate rain would be experienced over the Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.
Pagasa warned of possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rain.
The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and Bicol will also have cloudy skies with light rain due to the monsoon.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. Pagasa also warned of possible flashfloods during severe thunderstorms. /cbb
