Sagada tourism activities suspended on January 1
MANILA, Philippines — All tourist activities in the town of Sagada were ordered suspended on January 1, 2019, its local government unit (LGU) advised the public.
In an advisory posted by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Cordillera Monday night, it said that the reason for the closure of the tourist activities, like caving and Echo Valley tours and others, were suspended for a day to “rest these destinations while the Sagadans welcome and celebrate the new year.”

The LGU Sagada advises the public that all tourist destinations in the entire town will be closed to tourism activities on January 1, 2019.

The LGU in Sagada also advised the public that bus trips to and from Baguio City and Sagada will be suspended on January 1, as well.
The Sagada LGU further explained that tourists who will come on private vehicles are still welcome in the town but tourist sites are closed.

The LGU Sagada also advises the public that there will be no bus trips from Baguio City and Sagada and vice versa on January 1. Regular bus trips will resume on January 2, 2019, Wednesday.
