Two Pangasinan cops wounded in Rizal Day brawl

DAGUPAN CITY – Two policemen were wounded following a brawl involving two families of police officers at an Urdaneta City bar on Sunday.

Inspector Marvin Tacdol was shot in the abdomen while Chief Inspector Napoleon Eleccion Jr., a member of the 2nd Pangasinan Provincial Mobile Force Command, was shot in the hand, after Eleccion accosted Tacdol over a concealed weapon.

Eleccion was reportedly having drinks at Station 22 with his brothers PO1 Nathaniel and Nolan, and their father, retired jail management officer Napoleon Eleccion Sr. when they noticed a gun protruding from the waist of Tacdol.

Tacdol was in another table with his brothers, SPO2 Ryan Tacdol and Devid, who owns Station 22.

The two families clashed as soon as Eleccion and Tacdol grappled over the gun.

Senior Supt. Wilson Lopez, Urdaneta chief of police, said that once they learned they were all police officers, the Tacdol and Eleccion families brought their wounded to the hospital and surrendered.

Investigators are reviewing the  security camera footage at the bar and taking the statement of witnesses as of posting time.

The police recovered three handguns at the bar. /ee
