MANILA, Philippines — Two students were arrested by the police after they were allegedly caught in an illegal gambling activity in Pasig City on Sunday.
The 19-year-old and 16-year-old suspects were spotted playing “cara y cruz” as the police were patrolling Barangay Manggahan.
Police said the suspects were with other players during the incident, but they only managed to collar the two. The rest managed to escape arrest.
Recovered from them were three 25-centavo coins used in the game and P89 used as bet money. Police also confiscated four sachets of suspected marijuana when they frisked the suspects.
The suspects were brought to the Rizal Medical Center for examination, police said. /ee
