MANILA, Philippines — Majority of Filipinos are entering the new year with hope, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
Poll results released on Monday revealed that 92 percent of Filipinos said they are entering the upcoming year with hope rather than fear.
Only eight percent said they will enter the new year with fear.
The December 2018 poll was conducted from December 16-19, 2018 using face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide.
There were 360 respondents each in Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.
It has a sampling margin of error of ±2.6 percent for national percentages, and ±5 percent each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The pollster said it presented respondents with the question: Ang darating na taon ba ay inyong sasalubungin ng may pag-asa o may pangamba? (Is it with hopes or with fears that you enter the coming year?) /ee
