A homeowner at a condominium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is crying foul over an alleged vandalism incident involving his car on the premises.
Ng Foon Hwee said the incident happened after he asked the security guard to clamp the car that was parked illegally at his parking space.
“As I was driving towards my parking space, I saw a BMW parked there, so I asked the guard to clamp the car.
“When I returned to the carpark half hour later, the guards were unlocking the clamp with the car owner present.
“When I asked the owner, he said it wasn’t him and that he only parked there for 10 minutes.”
From the CCTV footage, Ng said he saw two men kicking his car, but it was too blurry and he could not recognize the faces.
Villa Crystal Condominium joint management body (JMB) chairman Deric Teh said this incident had happened before, where the same tenant had parked his car at other owners’ parking spaces since last year, and had his car clamped so many times. He paid the penalty.
“Last year, it happened again. He went berserk and removed the clamp by himself and threw it away.
“In another incident, the guard asked him to move his car but he refused. His car was clamped for four days and caused inconvenience to lot owner.
“He paid the penalty of RM200 with only coins,” added Teh.
Teh said there were no rules by the Commissioner of Buildings (COB) Department and the Housing and Local Government Ministry for action to be taken against homeowners or tenants with bad attitude.
Kepong Community Service Center head Yee Poh Ping is urging the authorities to investigate this case as it might pose a threat to the residents.
