The weather bureau said  the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is expected to bring cloudy skies and rain over parts of the country on the last day of 2018.

The Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with light rain due to the northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa said the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience improved weather despite expected isolated light rain, while Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with local thunderstorms.  /muf
