MANILA, Philippines — A total of 3,678 people remain stranded in different ports in the country due to bad weather brought by the low pressure area (LPA) that was previously Tropical Depression “Usman,” the Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) said Sunday.
The PCG’s latest tally showed the following number of stranded passengers in various ports, as of 4 a.m.:
National Capital Region-Central Luzon – 211
Commander’s Wharf – 211
Southern Tagalog – 1,738
Lucena Port – 1,450
Mogpog Port – 35
Atimonan Port – 138
Mauban Port – 115
Western Visayas – 320
Banica Wharf – 15
Libertad Wharf – 3
Caticlan Jetty Port – 97
Algeria Port – 59
Fast Craft Terminal/PPA Port – 146
Bicol- 1,409
Virac – 14
San Andres – 28
Pasacao – 221
Tabaco – 1,016
Pioduran – 130
Moreover, 356 rolling cargoes, 28 vessels; and 7 motorbancas were also still stranded in different ports nationwide.

In the weather bureau’s bulletin, the LPA was spotted at 240 kilometers northwest of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, at 3 a.m.
The LPA is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rain over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley Region, and Central Luzon. /cbb
