DIMASALANG, Masbate — At least 63 persons were evacuated as heavy rains flooded eight villages in Masbate City on Saturday.
Alexis Mabini, a staff at the Masbate City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said the sudden downpour after the storm warning signal was lifted caused flooding in Barangays Ibingay, Espinosa, F. Magallanes, Tugbo, Kinamaligan, Usab, Mayngaran, and Pawa.
The Philippine Coast Guard allowed sea travels to resume in Masbate ports at 9 a.m., however, due to the zero visibility caused by heavy downpour, the Montenegro fastcraft and roll on, roll off vessel bound for Pilar town in Sorsogon returned to Masbate City port at around 12:30 p.m. /ee
