Winds affecting Central, S. Luzon to bring rain to parts of PH–Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Luzon and Eastern Visayas will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms as a wind convergence is affecting Central and Southern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Wednesday.

A wind convergence is a weather system wherein two winds from different directions merge at a particular area.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it also said.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast and east will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough, Pagasa said.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east and northeast with slight to moderate seas, it said.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves, as a strong to gale force wind is expected to affect the seaboards of Northern Luzon and eastern seaboard of Central Luzon, it also said.
