2 killed in road accident in Negros Occidental
MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were killed while several others were injured in a road accident in Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental Tuesday, police said on Wednesday.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesman of the Philippine National Police, said truck driver Francisco Loberas and his helper Francisco Basiao were killed when their vehicle collided with a Ceres Bus at Sitio (sub-village) Naga in Binicuil town at around 4:22 p.m.
Loberas and Basiao were transporting sugarcane when the accident occured, said Cruz.
He said that the two died on the spot while several passengers of the bus sustained injuries and were rushed to the Kabankalan City Hospital for treatment.
