Man who threw old man off stolen motorcycle arrested

MANILA, Philippines — A man who appeared to throw an old man off a speeding motorcycle in Quezon City has been arrested by the police.

Suspect Banjo dela Paz was arrested after he was seen visiting a friend in Barangay Sangandaan, Quezon City, at about 10 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday morning, Dela Paz figured in a vehicular accident with a Toyota Vios along Roosevelt Avenue as he was driving a motorcycle reported stolen hours earlier. He abandoned the motorcycle then commandeered another motorbike driven by a 64-year-old man.

Video taken by a motorist after Dela Paz took control of the second motorcycle, shows him driving away with the old man hanging on helplessly with his feet getting dragged on the pavement.

Moments later, Dela Paz appeared to grab the old man and to throw him off the speeding vehicle onto the road.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
