Commuters get free MRT rides on Rizal Day

MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will be giving commuters free rides on Dec. 30, to mark the 122nd death anniversary of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, the management of MRT-3 announced that free rides could be availed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Malacañang has proclaimed Dec. 30 as a regular holiday to commemorate Rizal’s life and works.  /muf
