DOH: 13 injured due to fireworks from Dec 21-25
MANILA, Philippines — Even a week before New Year revelry is expected to take place, the Department of Health (DOH) has already recorded 13 injuries related to fireworks use.
From December 21 to December 25, DOH said 12 individuals were wounded because of fireworks while one case was due to “fireworks ingestion,” citing its Fireworks-Related Injury (FWRI) Surveillance report.
Specifically, DOH said three cases each have been recorded in National Capital Region, Region III, and Region VII; two from Region VI; and one each from Region IX and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
DOH said 11 victims were male and aged between 2 to 28 years old. /kga
