Baguio won’t allow political campaigning in flower festival

BAGUIO CITY — Organizers of Baguio’s Panagbenga Flower Festival in February have warned that they will kick out politicians who will try to use the event to campaign for the May elections.

Mayor Mauricio Domogan said candidates were welcome to join the parades, but they would be ejected if they interrupted the flow of the parades by shaking hands with spectators.

Posters and tarpaulins of politicians will also be taken down, said Domogan, who serves as chair of the organizing committee, the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. —Karlston Lapniten
