Cebu Pacific halts ‘Piso seat sale’ amid ‘system downtime’

MANILA, Philippines — Cebu Pacific airline has suspended its “Piso seat sale” as it fixes its “system downtime,” which has been affecting its operations early Monday.

“To give way for troubleshooting, we regret to inform patrons and passengers that we are suspending the on-going Piso/Seat Sale,” Cebu Pacific said in its 2:30 p.m. advisory.

The airline’s promo, launched by midnight Monday, has been offering as low as P1 base fare for all its domestic and international destinations. It will run until Christmas Day or until seats last.

With this, Cebu Pacific said they are still using an “alternate system for check-in and boarding” as it warned its customers of “slow turnaround times.”

“While we are using an alternate system of check-in and boarding, please expect slower turnaround times, as we exert all efforts to restore the system,” it said.

“Though the booking platform is not related to the airport process, we need to ensure our IT team remains focused on operations and the system restoration at the soonest possible time,” it also said. /kga
