4 dead, 3 hurt in Pangasinan road crashes

DAGUPAN CITY — Four motorcycle riders were killed while three others were injured in separate road accidents on Saturday (Dec. 22) and Sunday (Dec. 23) in Pangasinan province, according to the police.

Jessie Cabaddo, 38, did not reach a hospital alive after his motorcycle crashed into an electric post along the road at Barangay (village) Bakit-bakit in Rosales town about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

His backriders, Raffy Genotiva, 26, and Christopher Palma, 30, are now being treated in a hospital.

Police said the motorcycle was speeding on the eastbound lane of the road when it suddenly swerved towards the road shoulder and crashed into the post.

Investigators added that the motorcycle riders were not wearing helmets and were drunk.

At 12:05 a.m. Sunday in Villasis town, a southbound motorcycle slammed the right side of a sports utility vehicle as it took a left turn from the Manila North Road to the Villasis-Malasiqui Road.

Motorcycle driver Dominador Ordonio, 25, who had no helmet, suffered head injuries and died while being taken to a hospital.

In San Fabian town, two still unidentified motorcycle riders were killed in a collision with a jeepney as they traversed a highway in Barangay Bolasi at 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

The jeepney driven by Dominador Ramos Jr., 35, dragged the motorcycle for a kilometer until it burst into flames.

In Manaoag town, motorcycle rider Relly Molina, 42, was injured when a dump truck rear-ended his motorcycle in Barangay Babasit about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Due to the impact, the police said Molina’s motorcycle crashed into another vehicle traversing the westbound lane of the road.

Molina is now being treated in a hospital in Manaoag./lb
