Daraga police chief relieved after Batocabe’s killing

MANILA, Philippines — The chief of police of Daraga municipality in Albay has been relieved following the assassination of Ako Bicol partylist Rep. Rodel Batocabe in Barangay Burgos.

According to C/Insp. Malou Calobaquib of the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) Public Information Office (PIO), Daraga police head Supt. Benito Dipad will be replaced by Supt. Dennis Balla from the Albay Police Provincial Office.

Batocabe was killed on Saturday while attending a gift-giving event intended for senior citizens and persons with disability. He was on his third term as Ako Bicol representative and was vying for the mayoralty of Daraga. /je
