MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit line 2 (LRT-2) announced it would shorten its trips before the Christmas and New Year days for at least 2 hours.

In an advisory on Sunday, the management of the LRT-2 said that the shortening of trips is in anticipation of a decline in ridership.

The adjustment of schedule will also allow its personnel to celebrate the holidays with their families.

According to LRT-2, the last trip from Santolan station on December 24 will be at 8 p.m., instead of 10 p.m.

The last train from Recto station will leave at 8:30 p.m. instead of 10:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, on December 31, trains coming from Santolan station will leave the station at 7 p.m. from the regular schedule of 10 p.m.

The last train from Recto will be adjusted by three hours as it is set to leave the station at 7:30 from its regular schedule of 10:30 p.m.

The management of LRT-1 earlier announced that it would also adjust its trips for the holiday season, starting from December 24 up to January 2, 2019
