JBC opens positions for Associate Justices in CA, CTA

MANILA, Philippines — Positions for Associate Justices in the Court of Appeals (CA) and Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) are now open, the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has announced.

In a statement last December 18, JBC said it is now open to receive applications or recommendations for CA Associate Justices and CTA Associate Justices.

JBC advised interested applicants to submit two sets of application or recommendation with conforme as well as other documentary requirements until 4:30 p.m. of February 2, 2019.

According to JBC, there were vacancies because CA Associate Justice Jose Reyes Jr. was appointed as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court last August 9 while CA Associate Justices Magdangal De Leon, Renato Francisco and Romulo Borja had retired on August 19, August 20 and September 11, respectively.

On the other hand, JBC said CTA Associate Justices Lovell Bautista and Caesar Casanova had retired on August 14 and September 9 respectively.  /kga
