Expect heavier than usual traffic in some areas in Parañaque City on Dec. 23 as the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) holds its annual “Parade of Stars.”
In an advisory, the Parañaque Traffic and Parking Management Office said that a huge portion of Dr. A. Santos Avenue (formerly Sucat Road) starting from Sta. Rita Avenue would be closed to motorists starting at noon.
Parade route
The parade is expected to begin at 1 p.m. at Shopwise Sucat and pass through Dr. A. Santos Avenue, turn left on V. Medina Avenue (Kabihasnan), turn right on Quirino Avenue, left on Naia Road (eastbound lane), right on Macapagal Boulevard (eastbound lane) and finally, left on Bradco Avenue where it will end.
The following roads will be open for counterflow: eastbound of Dr. A. Santos Avenue from Soreena to Kabihasnan, eastbound of Naia Road from Quirino Avenue to Macapagal Boulevard, and southbound of Macapagal Boulevard from Naia Road to Bradco Avenue.
Airport Road from Roxas Boulevard to Domestic Road will be open to two-way traffic from 1 p.m. until 12 p.m. the next day.
Parañaque City’s hosting of the MMFF Parade of Stars coincides with its 20th cityhood anniversary.
The MMFF is an annual event organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to “help promote and enhance the preservation, growth and development of the local film industry.”
