SAN PEDRO CITY — An suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Biñan City in Laguna province on Monday morning.
Laguna police director Sr. Supt. Eleazar Matta, in a text message, said the suspect Adan Abarkis was included in the intelligence police’s watchlist for drug personalities.
Matta said police conducted the operation in Barangay (village) Canlalay around 7 a.m.
He said after the sting operation, Abarkis drew a gun and engaged law enforcers in a shootout. He died immediately.
An earlier incident in the village involved Abarkis allegedly threatening a village official over meddling in his illegal drug activities, police said.
Police recovered a .38 caliber gun and four sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) from the suspect. /je
