Faeldon son charged with ‘maintaining drug den’ – police

LEGAZPI CITY –The son and namesake of Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Nicanor Faeldon Sr. was charged Saturday with operating and maintaining a drug den, police said Sunday.

Nicanor Faeldon Jr. was apprehended by police at an alleged drug den on Dec. 14 with five other people.

He was charged with violating Section 6 (Maintenance of a Den) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165, according to Chief Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.

Meanwhile, suspect Russel Lanuzo was charged with illegal possession and use of illegal drugs and paraphernalia, while Alan Valdez was charged with drug use and visiting a drug den.

Calubaquib said the police filed the charges before the city prosecutors’ office on Saturday. The cases would be filed in court on Monday.

Calubaquib said Faeldon’s son and the two other suspects were still being held at the Naga City detention facility. /cbb
