Kidnapped Aussie feared wounded

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines –Kidnapped Australian national Warren Rodwell, not Roduel, as spelled in the earlier posting, may have been wounded when seven armed men snatched him from his home in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Monday evening, the police said.

Chief Superintendent Felicisimo Khu, chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Western Mindanao, said traces of blood were found near Rodwell’s house in Green Meadows Subdivision in Barangay (village) Upper Pang by police investigators.

Khu also said the police were suspecting the Abu Sayyaf behind the abduction of the retired Australian Army soldier, who hails from Strathfield in New South Wales.

Rodwell, 53, had been living in the Philippines since marrying his Filipino wife, Miraflor Gutang, 27, in June.
