CORDON, Isabela-—A police officer assigned in Kalinga province, who was in President Duterter’s drugs watch list last year, was shot and killed in Tanggal village here at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 12), police said.
Senior Police Officer 4 Ronald Galap, a Cordon town resident who had been assigned to Lubuagan town, was standing beside his vehicle when unidentified men attacked him, according to Senior Inspector Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson.

Responding policemen found beside the slain man a note with the phrase: “Abusadong Pulis, Mabuhay ang CPP-NPA (abusive policeman, long live the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army).”
The police have yet to determine if the message was authentic.
