MANILA, Philippines – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is set to release a resolution to implement the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) that stopped a lower court’s ruling that allowed Angkas ride-hailing operations.
The LTFRB on Wednesday welcomed the SC’s issuance of a temporary restraining order (TRO), which once again prohibited Angkas from doing its business.

“In line with the TRO issued by the SC, the LTFRB will release a resolution ordering enforcers to implement the SC order and for ‘Angkas’ operators and bikers to cease and desist their service to avoid apprehension,” the LTFRB said in a statement.
“Apprehension of ‘Angkas’ bikers will commence upon issuance of the LTFRB resolution within the day,” it added.
It also said: “We will remain faithful to our mandate in giving commuters a safe and efficient mode of public transportation.”
The Department of Transportation (DOTr), meanwhile, welcomed the SC’s TRO against Angkas operations.
It maintained that using motorcycles as a form of public transportation is considered unsafe.
