2 killed in buy-bust of firearms in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines — Two unidentified suspects were killed in a buy-bust operation of firearms launched by the police in Navotas City Tuesday.

Operatives of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) of the Northern Police District, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and Navotas City Police Station conducted the operation at around 4:15 a.m.

According to police, the suspects noticed they were dealing with a police officer after handing a caliber .38 revolver to a member of the DSOU.

Police said the suspects opened fire at the lawmen, prompting them to engage in a firefight which killed the suspects on the spot.

Police recovered from the crime scene a caliber .45 pistol, two .38 revolvers including the firearm used in the buy-bust, five spent shells, four sachets of suspected “shabu,” and a twenty peso bill. /je
