Driver finds mom’s body in pool of blood in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines — A pedicab driver found his lifeless mother in a pool of blood inside their house in Navotas City before dawn Monday.

Police said Mark Joseph Mulingtapang found the bullet-riddled body of his 39-year-old mother, Daisy Bautista, when he went home to Barangay San Roque at 3:50 a.m.

Mulingtapang reported the incident to the police, who processed the crime scene at about 5 a.m., the Northern Police District reported.

Police found six spent shells and two deformed bullets at the crime scene.

Bautista died from multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of her body, according to the police. Her body was brought to a funeral home for autopsy.

Police have yet to identify any suspects as they investigate the killing further. /cbb
