Cop nabbed, detained for ‘threatening’ children
A policeman was arrested and briefly detained after he allegedly cocked his gun in front of minors inside a videoke house in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City last Sunday night.
Because of the incident, SPO1 Adonis Burgos was ordered relieved from the San Nicolas police station.
Parents of the children decided not file charges against Burgos but Senior Supt. Melvin Buenafe, chief of the Cebu City police, ordered Burgos investigated.
According to initial findings, Burgos and two civilians were drinking in a videoke house on S. Soriano Street in the North Reclamation Area.
While drinking, Burgos scolded three children aged 11 to 13 for being noisy in the establishment, said police.
When the children reportedly ignored Burgos, he drew his .9mm pistol and cocked it.
