HERMOSA, Bataan – A couple who owned a variety store were robbed and killed by two motorcycle-riding men at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, just 5 meters away from their house.
Forty-two-year-old Reggie Cubilla and his 40-year-old wife Erley were with four other passengers in their Isuzu Elf truck when they were waylaid by the motorcycle riders at Barangay Palihan.
The assailants shot Cubilla in the head and stabbed his wife in the neck before fleeing with an unspecified amount of cash.
The other passengers were unharmed.
Police later caught Leonardo Rieza, also of Palihan, when they discovered the motorcycle used in the heist outside his house.
The police also discovered a sweater worn by the gunman who shot Mr. Cubilla.
The police are searching for his accomplice, who allegedly attacked Mrs. Cubilla, and who remains unidentified. /atm
