New IT firm

WITH the surge in demand for custom-fit technology solutions and the availability of software developers in Cebu has prompted a Filipino software developer to invest in a software development company in Cebu.

Joel Tomines Requioma, onePeople Inc. founder, in a press conference last week said that he saw the demand for such technology especially from small and medium enterprises who couldn’t afford to invest in expensive solutions offered by other companies.

“onePeople Inc. offers browser-based solutions that are fully integrated especially for Human Capital Management Solution (HCMS) which are more cost-efficient especially for startup or small companies in Cebu,” Requioma said.

The company offers the onePeople Cloud program which offers a monthly subscription, per-headcount paid service that is accessible through “the cloud” through the Internet.

“I am giving more emphasis on the Cloud offering to target the SMEs of Visayas and Mindanao especially here in Cebu where there is abundance of SMEs. This service is cheaper, accessible and deployable anytime, anywhere,” said Requioma./Reporter Aileen Garcia-Yap

The Heritage

FORTY – SIX years since the property development firm launched the first high-end gated community in Cebu – Maria Luisa Estates Park in barangay Banilad, Cebu City – Maria Luisa Property, Inc. unveils another high-end property development.

“The Heritage is a 13.6-hectares property located in Jagobiao, Mandaue City which will still carry that brand quality as the Maria Luisa Estates,” said Anne Aboitiz, Maria Luisa Properties Inc. general manager.

Aboitiz said the firm had remained confident with the Cebu market, which she described as frugal in everything except when it would come to their homes.

The Heritage is a lot only development that they are offering at P9,000 to P12,000 per square meters with average cuts from 250 sq. m. to 300 sq. m.

Aboitiz said they started selling the 242 lots and had already sold four primary lots, which only showed that there was still a market for high-end products in Cebu.

Aboitiz also said that they would not be going back to offering condominium units which she described was a saturated market.
