PRC: 79,212 examinees pass teacher’s licensure exam in Sept. 2018

MANILA, Philippines — About 79,212 examinees passed the September 2018 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday.

The PRC reported that out of the 79,212 passers, 18,409 are elementary teachers and 60,803 are secondary teachers.

Of the elementary teachers, 17,200 are first-timers while 1,209 are repeaters.

For secondary teachers, 52,453 are first timers and 8,350 are repeaters.

A total of 90,750 examinees took the exam for elementary teachers while 126,582 for secondary.

Rhea Joy Yebes Genson of University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao City and Mariel Cataluña Saladaga of University of Southeastern Philippines-Tagum topped the LET, both posting 89.80 percent passing rate.

Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas was named top performing school for LET in elementary level with 86.78 percent passing rate.

For secondary level, the University of the Philippines Diliman was hailed top performing school with 94.19 percent passing rate.

PRC released the results 52 working days after the board examinations.
