SAN PEDRO CITY – Two illegal drug suspects were killed in a buy-bust operation in Cavite City, while 20 others were arrested in various operations, the police said Friday.
A report from the Calabarzon police said suspects John Alex Quijano and Christopher Vermudez were the targets of an anti-drug operation in Barangay (village) 28 around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
During the sale, Quijano allegedly fired shots, prompting the police officers to shoot back in defense. They hit Quijano when Vermudez also opened fire.
Both suspects died while being taken to Bautista Hospital in Cavite City.
Twenty other people were arrested in a series of buy-busts from Thursday evening to early Friday in Imus, Bacoor, General Trias, Naic, General Mariano Alvarez and Silang. said Cavite police director Sr. Supt. William Segun in a message. MARICAR CINCO
