MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 4.5 earthquake jolted Sorsogon on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its initial report, Phivolcs said the earthquake hit 15 kilometers (km) west of Sorsogon at 5:26 p.m.
The earthquake of tectonic origin had a depth of 8 km.
Phivolcs reported that earthquake’s Intensity II was felt in Legazpi City and Sorsogon City.
Phivolcs added that no aftershocks and damage could be expected from the earthquake.
