Igi Pantino shows solid form in 2nd PSC tennis

AFTER bagging a gold in the recently concluded Central Visayas Regional Athletics Association (CVIRAA) meet, Cebuano Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino is back on the court, this time to contest the 12 and 14 under titles of the 2nd Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Tournament in Metro Manila.

In the 12 under where Pantino is seeded third, he advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-0, 6-0, blanking of Juan Enrique Jugo.

Pantino gained an automatic entry to the second round after receiving a bye in the first round.

Pantino’s first match in the 14 under, where he is seeded fifth, will be tomorrow.

Pantino partnered with Francis Gener Lambayan to give the Cebu City Niños a gold in the elementary boys doubles competition in the CVIRAA meet held in Bohol.

The PSC netfest is a group 1 Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA)-sanctioned tournament and will hand 200 points to each age group category winner. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
