MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.5 earthquake jolted Leyte on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its initial bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor was located 7 kilometers (km) south of Capoocan, Leyte at 5:08 p.m.
The earthquake of tectonic origin had a depth of 5 km, Phivolcs also said.
Phivolcs noted no aftershocks and damage could be expected from the temblor. /kga
