Cebu couple stabbed dead by neighbors in suspected robbery

CEBU CITY – A couple from Barangay Langkas, Dalaguete town, in south Cebu died after they were stabbed by two neighbors on Monday night.

The fatalities were identified as Servando Ramos, 57, and Ana Maria Grace Ramos, 47.

Their 12-year-old daughter, who was wounded in the attack, is in stable condition in a hospital.

PO2 Brycel Ricaborda of the Dalaguete Police Station said they had launched a manhunt against suspects Antonio Jabagat and his nephew Alejandro Jabagat.

Quoting the testimony of the daughter, she said their two neighbors knocked on their door sometime past 8 p.m. on Monday.

The Jabagat’s were allowed into the house but moments later, the girl heard her mother screaming when she saw Servando wounded.

Ricaborda said the duo also stabbed Maria Grace and later went after the girl, who was inside her room.

Servando was stabbed in the neck and died almost immediately, while Maria Grace was struck in the abdomen.

The daughter was wounded in the left cheek.

Ricaborda said they were looking into a possible robbery after Servando lost his sling bag which reportedly contained P80,000 and other valuables. /cbb
