DID YOU KNOW: Dec. 4 to 10 is Human Rights Consciousness Week

05:00 AM December 04, 2018

National Human Rights Consciousness Week is observed from Dec. 4-10 by virtue of Republic Act No. 9201 signed on April 1, 2003, by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

According to the proclamation, all government agencies should celebrate the week through simple activities to make people aware of their basic human rights.

A national committee headed by the chair of the Commission on Human Rights is tasked to lead preparations for observing the event. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
